MCR provides a number of result-oriented services to its investor owned and publicly owned utility clients. We bring unique technical, financial and regulatory expertise in shaping demand-side options to fit utility resource portfolios. In an era of increasing regulatory barriers to developing much needed supply-side resources, MCR is crafting energy efficiency programs and other demand-side alternatives complementing, and in some cases enabling, the development of new generation assets.

MCR assists utilities to develop necessary programmatic planning and reporting to effectively and proactively address potential issues employing recognized standards and methodologies. Our staff has been in the forefront of energy efficiency program planning, implementation and regulatory policy development in California and the Midwest.

MCR is a leader in evaluating and updating adopted models, procedures and planning assumptions for regulators, as well as other regulatory agencies. We have a lengthy history of working closely with utilities, customers and regulators.

MCR’s energy efficiency models and databases provide critical information about specific energy efficiency program costs and savings, including all current energy efficiency technologies, customer segments and climates. These analytic tools and models allow our clients to understand and forecast the impacts of individual measures, develop resource supply curves and effectively annunciate program avoided costs and environmental impacts. The total program view of costs and benefits allows our clients to tailor an energy efficiency program to meet their specific needs.

MCR works with its clients to clearly understand their unique environment, objectives, successes and opportunities for improvement. From this understanding, we team with our clients to develop a specific action plan for improvement in areas such as program design, forecasting, implementation, tracking and reporting. Successful implementation of these steps typically is a joint effort designed not only to create results but to transfer knowledge to our clients so they are equipped to continue successful performance.
